WHAT HAPPENED???

Well, it’s the New Year so maybe Charice wanted to have a new look.

So, from this

now, she looks like this

BUT WHHHHYYYY? I Don’t get it! I must be not the only one that was shocked when she got home and now looked really different. Her newly cropped hair, short as it is — is fine if she wanted to be “edgy”as she said. BUT having her hair dyed is just so UN-natural!

Why did she dyed it? It’s OK to dyed it but the color is just — SORRY! I can’t get over it! It’s just doesn’t suit her much! :) She should have opted to dye it in a different color — not too blonde! It’s just doesn’t suit her. It’s so off! agh!

I really can’t blame other people to compare her with Maverick and Aiza Seguerra.

BUT it’s her body so I don’t have any say on that. BUT with her STATE NOW being famous she must have consultants or stylist to tell her what things that would suit her and those that were not.

Yes, I like her not because of her LOOKS but because she has a great VOICE. BUT bottom line — if you are a public figure your whole package sells, that means Talent + looks = $$$ + fans. So, one should also be conscious of what you look like because whether you like it or not Ms. Charice, you are now a public figure so a lot of people have a say or have a lot to say on what you look like.

BUT if Charice is happy with that — what can we do?!? Maybe she’s just experimenting with stuff. Her preview mag shoot was not so great too. Her hair kinda remind me of Sadako.

Or maybe she cut off her hair because she wants a clean slate like getting over her loss, remember her dad died last year? Or she just want’s to be like a K-pop star?

so many questions on why, why, why, but at the end of the day, it’s done so all we can do is just get over it — and maybe hope her next do would be much better :)

BUT, on 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards this one is OK :)

or maybe I got used to her “new” look already? :)

SUMMER BEAT

Summer is here again! :(

You can certainly feel summer now with the scourging heat from the SUN! Some would opt to go to other parts of Asia like Korea to get a break from the heat but some would try to enjoy it like go to the beach!

So, things to have this summer:

1.

2. Swim suit

SWIMSUITS AND COVER UPS

3. Sun glasses

4. Hat

5. Water –  must have one to avoid heat stroke. One must get hydrated enough to avoid passing out in the middle due to the heat. We should at least consume 1L-2L/day this summer. It’s so hot now. WE have no choice but to live with it. WE live in the tropical island so we just have to bear with the heat and just pass the time scourging some good beaches that our country have ;)

Kung Hei Fat Choy!!!

Kung Hei Fat Choy!!! :D

We, Filipino’s celebrate New Year twice! We celebrate new year on January One and also celebrate Chinese New Year. Why? It’s maybe because some of our population (minority) are  Tsinoy also known as Filipino-Chinese, so I guess it just been integrated into our lives.

You’ll just know that Chinese New Year is here because you’ll be able to see a dragon dance   in the malls or the malls are decorated into a Chinese theme inspired or simply put — you’ll see the malls bedecked in red! Well, Chinese New year usually fall near the heart’s month (Valentine’s Day is in FEB), so must be cost effective for the mall’s interior design.

What I love about Chinese New Year is the FREE TIKOY you’ll receive from friends. I love tikoy! (I have a Chinese friend that absolutely cannot stand the taste of Tikoy –yup, even if you fried it coated with egg — he can’t stand it! It’s just too weird for me when I learned that he does not eat it. It’s just that I usually associated that tikoy belongs to the Chinese or it originated from the Chinese, so him abhorring eating tikoy is just too weird! But then again, there are also some Pinoy’s who cannot eat BALUT!)

I love RED colors! This year’s color is Tangerine Tango or reddish orange so wearing red this year is a fad! I don’t know why but red may be so blatant and too bright, but the color just simply make you feel alive and vibrant! Right? I’m not Chinese but I love it when they dress up in Qipao. It just made me want to have a dress like that too! ;)

**The cheongsam is a body-hugging one-piece Chinese dress for women. It is known in Mandarin Chinese as the qípáo (??); pronounced ch’i-p’ao, and is also known in English as a mandarin gown. The stylish and often tight-fitting cheongsam or qipao (chipao) that is most often associated with today was created in the 1920s in Shanghai and was made fashionable by socialites and upperclass women.

Again, Happy New Year! Let’s start anew this year!

2012 COLOR: Tangerine Tango

Color forecasting firm Pantone has declared Tangerine Tango as the defining shade for 2012 in a report released December 8.

For more than a decade, the company has selected its Color of the Year, influencing product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries including fashion, home, and beauty.

2012′s shade, PANTONE 17-1463 Tangerine Tango, is a reddish orange shade, described by the brand as “vivacious” and “enticing.”

“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” explained Pantone’s executive director Leatrice Eiseman.

The color looks set to play a key role in fashion and beauty trends for next year; being favored by creators including Tommy Hilfiger, Cynthia Steffe, Elie Tahari, Adrienne Vittadini and Nanette Lepore for their Spring 2012 lines.

Beautiful — YOU. Natural Beauty looks best on you!

Why do we put so much make ups, get tanned and put our hair to a lot of treatments? We do it not to pamper ourselves but to look good for other people or for some to get attention.

Take a look at Snooki (Nicole ìSnookiî Polizzi) for example. Look at her with make-up  and the one that has no make up at all.

Which one do you think is better?

I really cannot believe that she look this beautiful without any tanning and make-up :)

Snooki became popular with her super-teased hair, caked-on mascara and foundation, and of course her tanned skin tone, on the Reality TV series “Jersey Shore”. I think her looks just stayed in the viewers mind, so when they see her they tend to remember the TV series.

Due to the success of the Reality TV and being guest to several shows plus being hounded by the press, Snooki has also become a Best Selling Author with her book A Shore Thing, and her second book Confessions of a Guidette is also out on the shelves now. Being a Celebrity has some perks, she  now maintains a successful line of products ranging from slippers, sunglasses, perfume, and of course, what else — tanning lotions and jewelry.

Maybe because of her “too well known” look, her own style made her popular plus an entrepreneur. Her stint made her rich (good for her!) but Snooki you look great with nothing on your face! You look beautiful! I hope you’ll appreciate your own beauty and shed off all that make-up and tanning lotions! :)

Hair extension

With the New Year coming I was thinking that maybe it’s time for me to get a new look. This year I had my hair permed, cut, and rebound. So, maybe its time for me to get a hair extension. Pixie look is OK but sometimes I miss having a long hair.

But do you know that hair extension has other names? Hair extension may also be called as Artificial hair integration or Rat Tails.

Hair extensions are methods of adding hair to natural hair or used to conceal thinning hair or hair loss in concentrated area. These method needs hair techniques that are advanced that used to change the hair drastically without looking too unrealistic. (so if you might want to do it. make an appointment to Salons and not do it your self stuff. Because if something goes wrong you might get to spend more than you think you are saving in doing it your self.)

What First Timer’s should know:

1. Use Human Hair — it maybe more expensive than synthetic hair. But most type of synthetic hair cannot withstand hot temperature, straightening and curling the hair will not be an option as it will singe. So, use human hair so that you can treat the hair just as you would on your own hair.

2. Who would treat your hair. YOU or a Professional. I suggest a professional. BUT if you have the confidence that you can do it on your own, fine. But ask a friend or family member to do it with you since it would be hard to do it yourself.

3. What type of extension application you prefer.

Clip-in Hair Extensions

The gentlest and easiest types of hair extensions are those easily attached into hair. To attach them, hair should be separated, starting at the neck’s nape, working your way upward. The number of clips used depends on the volume needed. Open the clips, facing them to the scalp. Then simply snap them into place. Clip-in extensions are also the way to add highlights to your hair without coloring it.

Bonding and Sealing Extensions

Bonding and sealing extensions are used on sectioned real hair. Extensions are plaited to real hair and then painted with a bonding agent that seals the extension surrounding the hair. This hair extension can last up to four months before the bond begins loosening.

Weaves

Weaves are tiny hidden braids that hold hair extensions against the scalp. This hair extension can apply tension and add uneven weight to natural hair where they’re attached. This is a special concern when washing hair or when swimming or participating in other activities where hair gets wet. Because it’s hard to dry hair that’s under the braids, some people with weaves don’t wash their hair as often.

Feather hair extensions

Feathers hair extensions is the way to beautify hair with natural feathers (rooster). It allows avoiding complex procedures with hair such as dyeing, gluing, weaving. This method is often considered as light approach to add certain hue to hair. Apply either single feathers or package of bonded feathers. They are represented by any colors from natural to even rainbow.

4. COLOR - Manufacturers of artificial hair use a standard scale to classify the hair by color. The lower the number on the package, generally, the darker the color. 1 usually denotes darkest black. These colors vary greatly from one manufacturer to another, and certain specialty hair suppliers also create their own signature patterns and colors. The highest number is the lightest color, which is white or a very light colored blond. The feathers come in all colors. Some feathers have black stripes.

5. Texture -

Textures of artificial hair vary from very straight to extremely curly or kinky. The exact names of curl patterns vary by brand, and the possibilities of curl patterns with synthetic hair are endless, but some examples of packaged textures include: Silky Straight, Yaki, European, Deep wave, Loose Deep Wave/ Romance Wave, Jheri Curl, Wet and Wavy, and FeatherLuxe.

6. How much Hair do you need. If you only want to add volume then you only need 2-4 ounces of hair, 6-8 ounces if your hair is short.

How to take care of your new do:

1. As I said you brush, comb, iron, straighten your hair as if its your own hair if you used human hair. BUT if you used synthetic hair you cannot curl or straighten it because it will singe.

You cannot brush Deep wave and Curly Hair because it will get too frizzy, instead use a comb or fingers to scrunch.

2. Wash and condition the hair in one direction, from top to bottom. Put shampoo/conditioner in your hands and run hair through your palms.  Avoid washing hair upside down in the sink or scrunching on top of your head. It is suggested to use shampoos and conditioners that hydrate and add moisture.

3. You can use Moose, Gel and Hairspray, but be sure it is alcohol free as alcohol is a drying agent.

4. You can color your OWN HAIR but NOT the extension because the hair has already been processed.

How about you? Ever thought of wearing one? It would be really cool to see your self and it would be really cool to transform yourself and have a style so totally not so you.

Here’s Lady Gaga. Enough said! She’s totally there when she wears so out of this world wigs and yes she usually pulls it off.

Crossdressing

When you think of Bieber first thing that came in mind is his so popular coif which he cut recently. Now he spoke to Life & Style magazineabout his affinity for ladies’ jeans. “I’ve worn women’s jeans before because they fit me. It’s not a trend; it’s just, whatever works, works.” Again, Justin says this isn’t a trend, so if everybody starts wearing Not Your Daughter’s Jeans, don’t blame him.

Bieber was responding to a question about Kanye West’s decision to wear a women’s sweater. “It wasn’t (so he’d) look like a woman in a sweater; it was just a regular sweater that happened to be a woman’s.”

Seems like he is a cross-dresser? I mean lots of people enjoy or prefers wearing clothes of the opposite gender. This is know as cross dressing and has become a lot more accepted in  recent years, with many major companies now stocking makeup, skirts and tights and beauty products for men. Others however feel that they were born in the wrong body and for them cross dressing isn’t enough. Transsexual people often take additional steps to bring their body closer to their preferred sex, including electrolysis and facial or genital surgery.

Does it mean they are gay?

In short, no. In fact, many transgender people are happily married with children. It is estimated that there is same percentage of gay people in the transgendered community as in the rest of the population - approximately 10%. Of course, if you also identify as being gay, then that is perfectly fine too.

As Biebs said, “I’ve worn women’s jeans before because they fit me. It’s not a trend; it’s just, whatever works, works.” So, if they are comfortable with it, who are we to judge them? :) Let’s just respect each other choices :)

just another accessory

Nowadays, fashionable young people like to buy contact lens as an additional accessory on their life. It’s just like putting make up on and not worry on the consequences of wearing one.

We should be aware that these fashion acessories pose health risks. Compared with ordinary contact lenses, colored lenses carry greater risks of ocular irritation, redness and infection. Due to the layer of tinted color, they are thicker and harder than ordinary contact lenses, and additionally are less permeable, which can lead to the eyes being deprived of moisture and oxygen.

When the eyes, mainly the cornea, are deprived of water and oxygen, cells die and blood vessels dilate, causing syndromes such as itchiness and bloodshot eyes. Once these symptoms occur, people should stop wearing the contact lenses right away.

Contact lenses are categorized as medical devices that are inserted in the body, like artificial heart valves, and demand great care. In the Philippines, without permission from the Food and Drug Administration, it is illegal to sell corrected contact lenses, including colored lenses that can improve vision.

Human eyes are very delicate, and colored lenses must be used very carefully. It is very important to buy a tailored pair of lenses from qualified channels, and use them under strict direction, as well as having regular checks.

You might look fabulous but would you risk your eyes for it?

Baby V new ‘do

Vanessa wrote on her Facebook, “Hey guys, what’s happenin? I have been so stupidly busy working on Gimme Shelter. I’m so excited and proud of the work I’ve been doing and let me tell you, you all are going to be SHOCKED with how I look in this movie. It’s crazy sauce. Lol.”

Only one more week of shooting till I’m done! Xx V,” she added.

Due to that, I surf the net and looked for that movie she’s making. When I saw what her character of that movie looks like it was really shocking because it was way too opposite of what she really looks like in real life.

Check this out

the film is about : This street-wise, 16 year old girl who calls herself Apple has never had an easy life. Her mother is a junkie and prostitute, is verbally and physically abusive, and is grooming her daughter to follow in her footsteps.
Apple knows the streets, alleys and motels like the back of her hand but wants more from her life. She possesses a tenacious, tough, indomitable spirit, and will not surrender to fate. Apple runs away from her mother and tracks down her father whom she has never known, as he was only 19 himself when he got Apple’s mother pregnant. Apple begs her now Wall Street Broker father to take her in. In the few days under her father’s care she learns she’s become pregnant by a kid from the streets she met on the train, who now wants nothing to do with her. She is forced to leave her father’s home because of her choice to give birth to the baby she carrying.

Apple runs away again, and is eventuallu taken under the wing of Father McCarthy, the chaplain of the local hospital after almost getting herself killed. He offers to let Apple live at a shelter for pregnant young women run by a spiritual woman named Kathy. It is here that Apple begins to tentatively interact with the other girls who are in the same predicament as she and gradually begins to make a family for herself.

hmmm.. this movie seems interesting. And the lead would show her acting styles and I hope due to this she would have more movies to have. I heard that she would also starred at Journey 2: The Mysterious Island ( Brendan Fraser starred in the first Journey to the Center of the Earth film. She would play Fraser son’s love interest)

Last June 19, 2011 she arrives at the premiere of Captain America: The First Avenger held at the El Capitan Theatre on Tuesday night (July 19) in Hollywood.

The 22-year-old actress, who recently chopped off her signature chocolate locks, completed her look with gold accents and golden wedges.

Captain America: The First Avenger, starring Chris Evans as the title character, follows Steve Rogers as he volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America’s ideals.
